At Two Twelve Consulting, we have always believed in the power of people—and in the difference that can be made when they are given the support, opportunities and confidence to grow.

Our philosophy is rooted in the idea behind our name: at 211 degrees, water is hot; at 212 degrees, it boils. That one extra degree creates the change. It represents the additional effort, commitment and intention that can turn good into great—and it is a philosophy that extends well beyond the work we do with our clients.

As a locally owned company with deep roots in Northwestern Alberta, we believe that commitment also means investing in the community that has supported us and creating opportunities for others to realize what they are capable of.

212 Hockey — Developing More Than Hockey Players

Hockey has always been part of the 212 story.

212 Hockey builds on the same philosophy that guides Two Twelve Consulting: development happens when people are challenged, supported and encouraged to reach for that extra degree.

Our goal is to create high-quality hockey development opportunities for young athletes in our region—helping players build their skills, confidence and love of the game in a positive, challenging and supportive environment.

But success through 212 Hockey isn’t measured only by what happens on the ice.

Through our camps and programming, we want to reinforce the qualities sport has an incredible ability to develop: work ethic, confidence, resilience, accountability, leadership, teamwork and respect, all while loving the game. These are skills that help create strong athletes, but more importantly, they help create capable young people who are prepared to contribute wherever life takes them.

We also want the success of 212 Hockey to create opportunities beyond our own programming.

The Two Twelve Community Impact Fund

As part of that commitment, net proceeds generated through 212 Hockey will be invested back into our region through the Two Twelve Community Impact Fund, managed by the Northwestern Alberta Foundation.

The Foundation provides professional stewardship of charitable funds and connects generosity with needs and opportunities throughout Northwestern Alberta. Through our fund, the success of 212 Hockey can therefore reach beyond the athletes who participate in our programs and contribute to meaningful charitable initiatives within the communities we call home.

Our intention is simple: when 212 Hockey grows, its impact on our community should grow with it.

The launch of the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves women’s hockey program represents something particularly meaningful to Two Twelve Consulting and to our Founder and Principal Consultant, Danielle Hessler.

Danielle’s own story includes the opportunity to pursue hockey beyond her hometown and play NCAA women’s hockey while attending college in New York. The experience helped shape not only her life as an athlete, but her understanding of what sport can teach about discipline, leadership, perseverance, teamwork and believing in what’s possible.

Her connection to Northwestern Polytechnic is also a meaningful part of her professional journey. Danielle previously served as Director of Human Resources with Grande Prairie Regional College and later returned to the institution as a sessional instructor, teaching in the areas of Human Resources and Management. Those experiences provided an opportunity to contribute to the institution in different ways—from supporting the people and culture behind it to working directly with students as they prepared for their own careers.

Today, those parts of her story come together in a new way.

Two Twelve Consulting is proud to be a Founding Sponsor of the NWP Wolves Women’s Hockey program, helping support the creation of a new opportunity for female athletes to pursue post-secondary education and competitive hockey here in Northwestern Alberta.

For young female hockey players in our region, having a post-secondary women’s program close to home creates something incredibly important: something they can see themselves becoming.

Through Two Twelve Consulting, 212 Hockey, the Two Twelve Community Impact Fund and our support of NWP Wolves Women’s Hockey, our goal is not to create separate community initiatives. It is to build on one shared commitment—to develop people, create opportunities and strengthen the community that has given us so much.

Because sometimes one more opportunity, one more person believing in you, or one extra degree of effort really can make all the difference.
